John Francis McMahon passed away on March 21, 2025, at age 84 after a valiant battle with old age. Born on February 5, 1941, in Syracuse, NY, John was a successful entrepreneur who owned Terry Road Market and Yorkers convenience stores, a local newspaper, freight company, and restaurant. He earned the respect and admiration of many in his community.

Known for his kindness and generosity, John always had a smile and a magic trick to share. His warm heart and positive spirit were infectious and leave a legacy in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.

John was deeply spiritual and a devout Catholic. He loved landscaping, gardening, playing the lottery, and long drives in the country with his wife to get ice cream.  His greatest joy was found in the precious moments shared with family and friends.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 62 years, Dorothy McMahon, his children; John (Michele), Christine (John), Alicia (Eric), Jennifer (Harry), and grandchildren; Kaydee, Steven, Mikala, Harrison, Addison, Erin, and Sophie and 4 siblings; Jimmy, Bobby, Arlene, and Kathy.

Friends and family are invited to share memories at the calling hours on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
