John Olmstead, 70, of East Syracuse, NY, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his home.  John was born in Sodus, NY and was formerly a resident of Liverpool.  He retired as a cabinet maker where he was owner/operator of the Olmstead Furniture in East Syracuse.  He was a 1970 graduate of Liverpool High School.  Outside of his woodworking skills, he had a passion for writing and playing music.  He also enjoyed photography, sharing shop space with his son Mick and spending time with his loving wife Rita.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Rita; son, Mick Relyea of Liverpool; daughter, Jessica (Brad) DeMille of Syracuse, Utah; three grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, and Bastian.  He is also survived by his cat Jack.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY.
