John F. Yohler, Jr., 78, of Cicero, NY passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Francis House. He was born in New York City, NY son of the late John F. and Carolyn (O'Connor) Yohler, Sr. He grew up in Syracuse, NY graduating from Central Tech High School. John entered the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. While serving his country, he continued his education obtaining his Associates degree in Engineering Technology. John enjoyed a life-long career in sales, starting in Lyncourt, NY at Empire Tire & Brake. In September of 1984, he was united in marriage to the former Katherine S. Fleming, a blessed union of 41 years. While residing in Palermo, NY, he owned and operated Upson Tires. Before leaving the sales industry in 2009, he was the Sales Manager for Gallagher Tire in Syracuse.

John's main focus was his family. He liked boating, fishing, photography and collecting model trains. He also was a music and trivia buff. John was a past member of the Palermo Town Commission, served on the Palermo Town Board and the Palermo Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, James and Shirley Fleming who John shared a special relationship with.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine "Kate" S. Yohler of Cicero, NY; twin daughters, Amy (Joseph Smith) Schroder of Palermo, NY and Amanda Grinnell of Fulton, NY; 8 grandchildren, Michael Haywood, Ashley, Joey and Jessy Joslyn, Devin, Katrina, Miranda and Jason Smith; 4 great-grandchildren, Michael III, Lilliana, Gemma and Richard Haywood and their mother Courtney. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
