Joseph "Joe" P. McCarthy, 49, of Syracuse passed away unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family on December 9, 2022.

Joe enjoyed going to the family camp at Knobby Knoll, Sackets Harbor, where he would be found doing what he liked best, fishing and spending time with his family.  He was also a lifetime and "Die Hard" Buffalo Bills fan.

Joseph was predeceased by his father, Donald McCarthy in 2011; paternal grandparents, Donald and Kathryn McCarthy; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Martha Doty, and his uncle, David McCarthy.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his mother, Susan McCarthy of Syracuse, NY; children, Owen (Adriana) McCarthy of Zephyrhills, FL, Emma McCarthy of Rochester, NY and Johnathan Kehrli of Keystone Heights, FL; brother, Shawn (Jayne) McCarthy of Syracuse as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Joe will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Central Square American Legion, Fuller-Taylor Post 915, 3301 Fulton Ave., Central Square, NY 13036.
