Joseph Ronald Horan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025 at the age of 88.

Born in 1936 in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY, Joseph better known as "Ron" was the son of Mary and Thomas Horan. He grew up alongside his siblings Martin, John, Thomas, and Dorothy, forming lifelong bonds that carried through the years.

Joseph attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY, where he earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and business. His career led him to work as a Business Development and Marketing Manager at Revere Copper & Brass, first at the PanAm Building in Manhattan, NY, before transferring with Revere to Rome, NY, in 1980. He dedicated many years to his profession before retiring in 2001.

At the age of 23, Joseph married the love of his life, Anne Hopkins, in Brooklyn, NY, in October 1959. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing over 65 years of love, family, and devotion. They raised four children: Garry (Theresa), Susan (Ron Bertrand), Maureen (who sadly passed away in January 2003), and Brian (Niki).

Joseph was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Connor, Ronnie, and Charlie Bertrand, and Ashley and Lexi Horan. He was also blessed to welcome two great-grandsons, Ryan and Jack Bertrand. Family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A man of deep faith and service, Joseph was an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, contributing significantly to his community and church. His unwavering dedication, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of many.

Joseph will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, his passion for family and friends, and his steadfast faith. His legacy of love, commitment, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt. 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville NY 13027. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Maureen's Hope Foundation, 44 Oswego Street, Baldwinsville, NY, 13027, which was founded in memory of his youngest daughter Maureen.
