Sorbello
February 14, 1931 – December 25, 2020
Joseph S. Sorbello, 89, of Liverpool passed away on Christmas at Crouse Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Canastota, NY where he was raised and educated. Joe enlisted in the US Air Force, proudly serving during the Korean War. After serving his country he worked at the Syracuse VA Medical Center in their OR as a medic. Joe then started his career in sales in the Syracuse area retiring from Bresee Chevrolet in Liverpool. Joe was an avid runner participating in many marathons with the Syracuse Chargers Track Club. He enjoyed gardening, flying remote control airplanes and was a devoted SU Basketball Fan. He was a founding parishioner of Pope John XXIII Catholic Church. He is predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Eleanor (Coe) Sorbello of Liverpool, his children; Paul (Trisha) Sorbello of Solvay, James (Nancy) Sorbello of Boomer, NC, Diane Sorbello (Bruce Robinson)of Liverpool, four grandchildren, Jacob Sorbello, Emilee Sorbello (Kyle) Huff and Joseph and Anthony Benedetto, three great grandsons, Cody, Caison and Camden, several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Sandy.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Road Liverpool, NY 13090, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Mass will be live streamed at popejohnxxiiiliverpool on YouTube. The Rite of Committal and burial will take place in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
