Kara A. Horvath, 48, of Hackensack, NJ, passed away on Monday at the Francis House with her family at her side, after an 8-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Syracuse, NY, Kara was raised in Liverpool graduating from Liverpool High School, Class of 1993. She continued her studies at SUNY Cortland receiving her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and completed her education obtaining her MBA from the University of Phoenix. Prior to moving to Hackensack, NJ, she worked as a Pharmaceutical Representative for various local companies in the Syracuse area. Currently, Kara was employed with RadNet Radiology in Hackensack, NJ for over 10 years as a Sales Manager, up until her illness. A true people person, Kara always looked for ways to make others happy. She loved to travel or be outdoors; gardening, camping with her family or cherishing time fishing with her dad. Kara will be remembered as a generous, fun, loving soul.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her parents, Edward J. and Maureen W. (Walker) Horvath of Liverpool, NY, two sisters, her twin, Christa M. Horvath of Chicago, IL and Carly L. Horvath of Jersey City, NJ. Also surviving are her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 am in Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Road, Liverpool, NY 13090 with the Rite of Committal and burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
