Karen R. Wright, 79, of  Betsy Riordan Senior Apartments, Liverpool died Thursday July 8, 2021 at her home. Karen is the daughter of Albert Newton and Theresa Carey Newton. She was a graduate of Liverpool High School and earned her BA from Columbia College.  Karen was a retired member of CSEA retiring from Onondaga County Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 650 Hiawatha Blvd, W.Syracuse.Karen was active as a grandparent volunteer and competed in NYS Empire Games in the track and field throwing events.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Scott (Anne) Wright of Cicero, and daughter Sara Yoder of Liverpool.  Her grandchildren Charles Wright of Arkansas,Ashley Yoder of Liverpool, Jason Wright of Mississippi, Andrew Wright of Camillus, Adriann Abbott of Syracuse, Daniel Bagely of Syracuse, Evan Wright of Cicero, Abbie Wright of Cicero, Emma Louise of Liverpool, Andrew Louise of Liverpool

Karen is preceded in death by daughters Barbara Wright Abbott and Kelly Wright Badgely,a son Reid Wright, a brother Albert "Buzz" Newton, grandchild Noah Louise.

Graveside services will take place at 12:00 noon Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Pine Plains Cemetery 8686 Henry Clay Blvd, Clay NY. The  Rev.Dr. Russell Hall officiating.
