Kathleen "Kate" E. (Blumberg) Scheibl, 72, of Liverpool, NY and formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Tuesday November 8, 2022 surrounded by her siblings and children.  Kate was born in Elmhurst, NY, the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (McMahon) Blumberg. Kate grew up in Uniondale, NY where she graduated high school and later attended college. She married William Scheibl and in 1994 Kathleen and Bill came to the Syracuse, NY area, settling in Liverpool. Kathleen worked as an Insurance Agent, retiring from Travelers Insurance in Syracuse after over 30 years of employment. Kate's vibrant, outgoing personality and excellent cooking made it easy for her to entertain friends and family. Her strong work ethic and love for her family were the staples in her life. She was a proud member of the American Legion Uniondale Post 1487, Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered for Hospice Care of CNY. Kate is predeceased by her husband William Scheibl and her beloved son, Brian E. Rhodes in 2020.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Kevin (Deborah) Rhodes, two daughters, Ellen (Chad) Scarandino and Maureen Ann Rhodes, six grandchildren, her brother, Steven (Brenda) Blumberg, three sisters, Barbara (Andy) Ostipkwo, Diane Bennett (Steven), Marie (Rob) Grant, many nieces, nephews and a cousin.

Although taken too soon, Kate left a huge impact on many lives and will never be forgotten.

A Memorial service for Kathleen will be held on Long Island at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kate's memory can be made to Hospice of CNY or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
