Obituary

Born on February 11, Kathryn (Panek) Ackerley, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and connection.

After graduating from St. Patrick's High School in Syracuse, she began her professional life at NY Tel (Verizon), where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 1994. Never one to slow down, she soon began a second career with Mohawk Global Logistics, dedicating 20 years to the company and continuing to work there up until her passing. The Mohawk Global staff became a second family to her, and she treasured the friendships and sense of purpose she found there.

Fiercely independent and full of life, Kathryn had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her strength, resilience, and bright spirit touched everyone who knew her. She faced life on her own terms, with determination and grace.

A natural at bringing people together, Kathryn cherished the many gatherings she hosted and attended over the years. Through these moments shared with family and friends, she built lasting connections and memories that will live on in the stories told for generations.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Larry Ackerley; her cherished daughter, Diane Ackerley; and her beloved sister, Frances Neuser.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Michael) Cusano; her grandson, Shawn (Ipshita) Trifoso; her siblings, Patricia Bragman, Agnes Thomson, Joseph Panek, and Donna (Theodore) Bobik; and several nieces and nephews who will forever remember her warmth and kind spirit.
