Kathryn J. (Disbro) Anderson, 64, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 18, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, surrounded by her loving family.

Kate was born in 1960, in Johnson City, NY and graduated from Vestal High School, Class of 1978. An enthusiastic student, Kate enrolled at SUNY Geneseo and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood and Special Education in 1982, followed by her Master of Science degree in Special Education in 1988. Kate was a passionate educator and worked as a Special Education Teacher at the H.T. Wiley Intermediate School for the Watertown City School District for 32 years before her retirement in 2018. She was a kind and compassionate woman who spent her time outside of the classroom, even once retired, helping children with special needs. Kate expressed her many talents through activities she enjoyed like baking and painting and took pleasure in the quiet contemplation that accompanied reading, gardening, and watching the swimming koi fish in her pond. Her proudest titles were those of mother and grandmother, and Kate reveled most of all in spending her free time with her children and grandchildren. Kate will be joyfully remembered by those closest to her, and her family counts their blessings for the numerous children past, present, and future whose lives she has enriched. She is predeceased by her father, Alan R. Disbro, and her brother, Stann Disbro.

Kate is survived by her husband of 24 years, David B. Anderson of Liverpool, NY, her mother, Frances (Weidman) Disbro of Vestal, NY, her brother, John (Robin) Disbro of Ellisburg, NY, her daughter, Jacqueline M. Siragusa and Scott Broeker of Baldwinsville, NY, her son, Benjamin T. Siragusa and Erin Brisson of Syracuse, NY, her son, Steven (Amanda) Anderson of Liverpool, NY, her beloved grandchildren; Chance Siragusa, Sawyer Siragusa, Andrea Baranowski, Ryleigh Anderson, Brooke Anderson and Karma Broeker, dear nieces and nephews, many cousins, and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second Street Liverpool, NY 13088 with Funeral services to follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be held the following day at 10:30 am in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Vestal, NY.
