Obituary

Lawrence M. Callahan of Clay passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on January 29, 2024 after a short illness.  He was born in North Hornell, NY.

Lawrence was a proud teacher and coach in the Fulton City School District for over 30 years. He was an avid model train collector, a passion he has passed on to his grandson, Ben. He loved his family, his cats, golfing, politics, sports (especially the Buffalo Bills, SU basketball and the LA Dodgers), reading and was a life-long learner. He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Liverpool.

He is predeceased by his parents, Walt and Arlene Callahan, his brother, John, and his sister, Margaret.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Callahan; his children; Paul (Dawn) Callahan, Michael Callahan, Kara (Stuart) Brooks, Courtney Pierce and Amanda (Louis) Percival, 3 grandchildren; Andrew, Kate and Ben.

As per Lawrence's wishes, a private ceremony honoring his life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
