Obituary

Lawrence R. Freeman, 80, of Liverpool, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday at home. He was born in Southbridge, MA, the son of the late George F. and Ora B. (Henderson) Freeman. Lawrence grew up in North Woodstock, CT attending Woodstock Academy. He continued his education at the University of Connecticut receiving his Bachelor's in Environmental Science and Forestry. On July 11, 1964 he was united in marriage to the former Kathleen M. Catlin, a blessed union of 59 years. Two weeks later, Lawrence enlisted in the US Air Force, a 20-year career proudly serving his country. Throughout his tenure, along with his family, he traveled across the United States and the Orient, before his retirement as Major in 1984. Lawrence also enjoyed a second career as a Teaching Assistant at Fowler High School in the Syracuse City School District. He was a humble, selfless soul who loved to experience all that life had to offer. Lawrence was an avid gardener and loved to travel with his family, cherishing time spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Liverpool Elks Lodge # 2348 and a communicant of Christ the King Church in Liverpool. He is predeceased by his brother, George Freeman.

Surviving is his devoted wife, Kathleen M. Freeman, two daughters, Deborah (John) Bianco and Laureen A. Lane all of Liverpool, NY, four adored grandchildren; Morgan Bianco, Madison Bianco, Dylan Lane and Abbigail Lane, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090. The Rite of Committal and entombment will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.

The Family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Hoag and the wonderful home health aides for their care and undying compassion provided to Larry during his illness.
