Lena (Albanese) Gawlik, 94 of Liverpool died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 30, 2022.  She was born in East Syracuse, NY and has been a resident of Liverpool for the past 67 years.

Lena worked for a number of years at Syracuse China before marrying and starting a family.  When her children were older she held various positions (Cook, Resident Aide, and Assistant Administrator) at West Side Manor in Liverpool until she retired to help care for her grandchildren.  Lena was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Lena was a parishioner of St Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville.  She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years Edward Gawlik, two sisters; Pauline and Sister Rose Albanese and two brothers; Frank and Michael.

Lena is survived by three children; Daniel Gawlik, Susan Gawlik, and Richard Gawlik (Margaret Butler and sons) and two grandchildren; Ashleigh (Sean) Murphy and Oliver Gawlik (Eryn Leavens), three sisters; Mary Basile, Antoinette Casciano, and Rita Albanese and many nieces and nephews.

The Family would like to thank the wonderful home health aides who shared their kindness and support while helping them care for Lena.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am.  The Rite of Committal and burial will take place in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lena's memory to the Happy Compromise Farm + Sanctuary (www.happycompromisefarm.org), Francis House, or Hospice Foundation of Central New York.
