Obituary

Lowell R. "Butch" Hachmann passed away in the comforts of his home surrounded by family on Friday, March 24, 2023.  Butch was born in Bellevue, Iowa on May 1, 1938 to the late Arnold and Alice Hachmann.  He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 - 1959 as a medical service specialist.  After an honorable discharge and relocating to Syracuse, NY where he met his wife Mary VanMarter.  They married in 1961 and had three daughters.

He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his family.  He was a faithful SU fan as well as an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also enjoyed softball, bowling and golfing.  He made meaningful friendships through his hobbies and was greatly respected.  Lowell worked for General Electric in the Photo Lab as a Micro Film Technician and later retired from Martin Marietta in 1996. He is predeceased by his wife Mary, brother John (Jack) Hachmann and his parents Arnold and Alice Hachmann.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughters; Lori (Tom) Ditz, Pamela (Bill) Vroman, Nicole Trabucco, nine grandchildren; Joshua (Sarah) Stoetzel, Tori Sienkiewicz, Scott Sienkiewicz, James Sienkiewicz, Mia Trabucco, Ella Trabucco, Allison (KJ) Neidlinger, Theresa DeYulio, Kali Ditz, two great grandchildren; Ava Sienkiewicz, Juliette DeYulio and sisters, Ruth (Earle) Rothbaler, Christine (Scott) Young, LuAnn (Jon) Malone.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool, NY 13088.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY and the Finger Lakes, 990 7 th North St. Liverpool, NY 13088.
