Madelyn C. (Williams) Guanciale, 78, of Syracuse, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, after a sudden illness at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter to the late George E. and Audrey R. Williams. Madelyn graduated from Solvay High School and continued her education at Powelson Business Institute. Prior to raising her children, she was employed as a proofreader for the Scotsman Press for 10 years. Family was Madelyn’s main focus in life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, affectionately known as “Troop Gramma” in her granddaughter’s Girl Scout Troop. Madelyn loved spending time tending to her garden, was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts and puzzles. She also had a love for animals caring for numerous dogs and pets over the years. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, William R. Williams.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, William H. Guanciale of Syracuse, NY., two sons, W. Scott Guanciale of Syracuse, NY and Robert A. (Jean L.) Guanciale of Cicero, NY, three adored granddaughters, Brooke M. Guanciale of Syracuse, NY, Sophia V. Guanciale and Charlotte I. Guanciale both of Cicero, NY. and two nephews, Todd and Glenn Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
