Obituary

Margaret S. (Seaman) Rozwod, 98, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. She was born in Frankfort, NY to the late Gordon and Elizabeth (Conners) Seaman, the youngest of seven children.  Margaret graduated from Frankfort High School, salutatorian of the Class of 1945. She continued her studies obtaining her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Albany State Teachers College. She began teaching in the Albany, NY area before coming to Liverpool, NY. In 1956, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Rozwod, a blessed union of 55 years until his passing in 2012. After raising her family, she returned to teaching, retiring in 1992 from the Liverpool Central School District after a lengthy career. Margaret was an active parishioner of the former St. Joseph's the Worker Church in Liverpool where she taught Religious Education. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed bowling and playing cards with family and friends. Margaret was an avid SU and Syracuse Mets sports fan and loved attending her grandchildren's special events. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas (Kathryn) Rozwod, Elizabeth (Michael) Novakowski, William (Sarah) Rozwod, James (Mary) Rozwod, Mary (Edward) Smith, Robert (Sandra) Rozwod; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph, Elise, Emily, Matthew, Megan, Kathryn, James, Thomas and Benjamin, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second St., Liverpool, NY 13088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:30 am in Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and burial will take place in the spring in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Marcellus, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mary and Joseph's Pantry, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool, NY 13088.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Park Terrace for their care and support of their mother over the past four years.
