Marie Denise Millane… Denise to her family and friends… was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She peacefully departed this world, with her loving family by her side, on February 17, 2022 at the age of 84.

She was born to Edward and Alice Fournier on October 9, 1937 in Holyoke Massachusetts. After graduating from Precious Blood High School, she began her career as an executive secretary for Mass Mutual. In the spring of 1962 she met the love of her life, Herbert Charles Millane, and they were wed the following September. Denise made her home with Herb in Syracuse and took an administrative position at General Electric. Once they started their family, she stayed home to raise their 2 daughters, Sharon and Karen. For her second act, Denise worked as a clerk for Onondaga County Social Services, retiring in 2002.

Denise most loved family get‐togethers and enjoyed cooking and hosting family and friends. She was always trying new recipes and compiled a list of "keepers" that were family favorites. To Denise, cooking and feeding people was an act of love. In addition to being a wonderful host, she was also an avid bridge player— belonging to several bridge groups where she developed many close, long-lasting friendships. Denise was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated in the Joseph of Arimathea ministry.

Denise is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Herb; daughters, Sharon (James) Ciciriello and Karen (David) Whitney; grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Victoria, and Michael; as well as her sister, Irene Fournier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 23 ^rd at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Avenue, Liverpool, NY 13088. A calling hour will be held at the church one hour prior to the service, at 10:00 AM.  The Rite of Committal and burial will be private, at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
