Obituary

Marilyn L. (O'Connor) Black, 86, of Baldwinsville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday. She was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (McCleaf) O'Connor. Marilyn was raised in Glendale, NY and in 1950 was united in marriage to Peter A. Black, a blessed union of 57 years. In 1974, she relocated to Liverpool and enjoyed over a 30-year career as a successful Real Estate Broker in the Syracuse area. Marilyn was an avid golfer and was a member of Radisson Greens Golf Club for many years. She always looked forward to her Friday Girls lunch club, keeping in touch with many friends by telephone and playing poker with her grandchildren. Marilyn was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Peter A. Black, her sister, Patricia Naumann, her daughter-in law, Mary C. Black and granddaughter, Adrienne Paskell.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her four devoted sons; Tommy P. Black, Sr., Peter J. (Nancy) Black, Michael F. (Jackie) Black, James P. (Peg) Black, 12 grandchildren; Heather (Keith), Tommy Jr.(Amy), Kristen, Shayne, Danielle, Michael(Mariko), Bryan, Sean, B. Michael, Seth, Eric and Eleanor, 10 great grandchildren; Chase, Dakota, Dallas, Julian, Luke, Ava, Ella, Cameron, Jameson, Marley, her sister, Claire (Bill Hendry) Smith, beloved nephew, Paul (Susan O'Hara) Prygocki and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State RT 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 State RT 31, Baldwinsville. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn's memory can be made to North Area Meals on Wheels, 413 Church St., North Syracuse, NY 13212 or to the Female Charitable Society, Inc., 10 River St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
