Obituary

Marilyn I. (Richmond) Lerro, 91, of Liverpool, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Watertown, NY the daughter of the late Nello and Gladys (Myers) Richmond. Marilyn grew up in Ellisburg, NY and graduated from Belleville High School, Class of 1949. On August 8, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ralph P. Lerro, a blessed union 69 years. Marilyn earned her Cosmetology license and worked part time while raising her family. After her children were grown, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Kemper Insurance in DeWitt, retiring in 1987.

Marilyn was the matriarch of her family and was a woman of great strength and inspiration. She had a warm smile that would light up a room. Family was her focus in life and she always looked forward to get-togethers and celebrating the Holidays. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, visiting casinos and playing Bingo. Marilyn enjoyed reading a good book, needlepoint, golf and listening to country music. She also had a love for animals, especially her cats. She is predeceased by her sister Mae Belle Richmond and her great-grandson, Joey.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband, Ralph P. Lerro of Liverpool, NY, brother, James N. Richmond of Ellisburg, NY, son, Thomas (Susan) Lerro, of North Syracuse, NY, two daughters, Angela (Steven) Vangel of Liverpool, NY and Linda (David) Laubscher of Chapel Hill, NC, six grandchildren; Patricia (Aaron), Pamela (James), Joseph (Brittany), Jaclyn (Bobby), Kevin (Cailin), Kristen (Alex), two step-grandchildren Bridget (Nelson), Tracy, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Road, Liverpool, NY 13090 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association CNY Chapter or Francis House.

The Family would like to thank all of Marilyn's caretakers, especially acknowledging Deborah Dullen and Michelle Pettit for their care and compassion.
