Mary Lynn (Maywright) Desimone, 76, of North Syracuse passed away unexpectedly on Sunday at home. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Vasiloff) Maywright. Mary Lynn was raised in Jamesville, NY and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School, class of 1963. In November of 1964, she was united in marriage to Robert G. Moak, a blessed union of 21 years. Mary Lynn had resided in Liverpool prior to moving to North Syracuse where she has resided for the past 51 years. Mary Lynn began her career as an Administrative Assistant for the Amphenol Corporation. When the company left Syracuse, she was approached by Western NY Computing Systems, and accepted a position as Office Manager and then, Sales Representative, retiring after many years. Mary Lynn was a generous soul with a big heart. Her unselfish nature was evident as she always cared for others before herself. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Mary Lynn was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes. She is predeceased by her first husband, Robert Moak and second husband, Sal Desimone and her sister, Anne Hilfinger.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her son, Commander Robert "Bob" G. (Gayle) Moak II, United States Navy, Retired of Holly Springs, NC, her adored grandson, Isaac, brother, Norman (Linda) Maywright of Nicaragua, three nephews; Jamie (Julie) Maywright, her godson, Alex (Rita) Maywright, David (Nicole) Maywright and her niece, Christa (Darren) Thornley.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 9:15 am at the funeral home and 10:00 am in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
