Obituary

This past Thursday, on Thanksgiving Day, Mary A. Hachmann, 82, took her final breath, surrounded by her loved ones. The sun rose and the world welcomed Mary in 1939, a day the world became a little brighter. She was born in Syracuse to the late Edgar and Margaret VanMarter. Mary was raised in North Syracuse graduating from North Syracuse High School, Class of 1957. She worked for many years for both General Electric and Lockheed Martin in their Proposal Support Department.

Mary lived a full and warm life, filled with joy. She loved being with her family and spending precious moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our family would not be where it is today without her. She was a fiercely dedicated mother, raising three equally tenacious and dedicated daughters. Mary had a love for cardinal birds and their undeniable beautiful song. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those she interacted with. Mary will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. She is predeceased by her brother, Frederick VanMarter.

She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Lowell "Butch" R. Hachmann, three daughters; Lori (Tom) Ditz, Pamela (Bill) Vroman and Nicole Trabucco, nine beloved grandchildren; Joshua (Sarah) Stoetzel, Tori Sienkiewicz, Scott Sienkiewicz, James Sienkiewicz, Mia Trabucco, Ella Trabucco, Allison (KJ) Neidlinger, Theresa (Tony) DeYulio, Kali Ditz, two great-grandchildren, Ava Sienkiewicz and Juliette DeYulio, brother, Clinton (Deborah) VanMarter and sister, Kathleen (Jeff) Sikora, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
