Mary Jane
Hennigan
October 23, 1929 – January 28, 2022
Mary Jane (Linsky) Hennigan entered into eternal rest on Friday. Born in Syracuse, NY to the late David and Genevieve (O'Hern) Linsky, she lived her entire life in the Syracuse and Liverpool area. Mary Jane was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, St. Rose College and Syracuse University Graduate School of Education. She soon met the love of her life, James M. Hennigan, to whom she was married for 34 years before his death in 1988. Mary Jane was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She always had a ready smile and a kind demeanor, willing to listen or help in whatever way possible. Mary Jane especially loved time with family. The family camp on Montario Point on Lake Ontario was a special place of both fun and rest, with the screen door banging frequently announcing the arrival of family. She also enjoyed her years in the Chapters Book Club and Hill & Dale Garden Club. Faith was an important part of her life, being a Parish Council Trustee of St. Joseph the Worker Church and tireless volunteer at St. Francis House. Mary Jane used to say "Don't cry when I'm gone; I've had a wonderful life." We will do our best to honor that wisdom. She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Bridget Hennigan.
She was the mother of Michael B. (Heather) Hennigan, Anne H. (Doug) Selover, James M. (Debby) Hennigan, Jr., Margot H. (Carl) Anderson, Patrick D. (Kathy) Hennigan and Sheila H. (Doug) Morin; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool, NY 13088. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
Special thanks to her warm and caring caregivers in the final year of her life.
