Mary Mirabito Lanzafame, aged 91, passed away on November 27, 2024, in Liverpool, NY. Born on February 21, 1933, Mary lived a life marked by her deep faith and compassion, always striving to make a difference in the world around her.
Mary dedicated her life to nurturing her family, teaching religious education, and serving as a reading teacher in the Liverpool School District.
Mary was kind and compassionate; she had a tremendous faith and an open heart that welcomed everyone. She was beloved for her lifelong curiosity and commitment to learning. Mary was creative and found joy in gardening, drawing floor plans, sewing and craft projects for her home, always favoring practicality and functionality.
She was an alumna of Fulton High School. While raising a family, Mary proudly earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in early education from SUNY Oswego.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage, and her daughter, Jean Easterly.
She is survived by her children, Marie (Bob) Elias, Tom, and Ann (Mike) Falkner; her grandchildren, Rachel (Luke) Grant, Zach (Amanda) Falkner, Nicole Easterly, Madeline (TJ) O'Hanlon, Richie Easterly, Max Falkner, and Kateney Easterly; three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Maverick, and Chase; her brother, John Mirabito; and many nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
Family and friends will be received at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY, 13090, on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
Contributions may be made to St. Agatha Foundation, ℅ National Philanthropic Trust, 165 Township Line Road, Suite 1200, Jenkintown, PA 19046. The St. Agatha Foundation assists individuals afflicted with breast cancer, a cause close to Mary's heart. Her legacy of love, learning, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her.
