March 6, 1954 – January 8, 2025
Mary Ann (DeBartolo) Varga, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home, with her family at her side. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late Bruno and Roma (Guerreri) DeBartolo. Mary grew up in Lansing, MI graduating from Lansing Sexton High School and completed her education at Ferris State University obtaining her Pre-law Associates degree as a Paralegal. While at college, she met the love of her life and was united in marriage to Daniel Varga. Mary retired last year after 18 years with the Baldwinsville Central School District. She was employed as a Teacher's Assistant at Elden Elementary, specializing in reading intervention.
Mary had a passion for golf and was a past member of Westvale Country Club. She also enjoyed playing tennis and being outdoors. When relaxing, you could always find Mary poolside or at the beach. She loved spending time baking and crafting with her grandchildren, making gifts for any occasion for family and friends. Mary was the Varga family Travel Agent, planning all family vacations and excursions. Mary was a parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Daniel Varga of Baldwinsville, NY, her children; Ashley (Ryan) Boudreau of Edina, MN, Bryan Varga of Pittsburgh, PA, Brandon Varga of Baldwinsville, NY, Matthew Varga of Chicago, IL, Lindsay Varga and Fiancé, Carter Twombly of North Syracuse, NY, three adored grandchildren; Nikolas, Alexis and Natalie Boudreau all of Edina, MN, two sisters, Nancy (Allen) VanderLann and Connie (Les) Folse, twin brothers, Michael (Liliana) DeBartolo and Dr. Edward (Lori) DeBartolo, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 11:00 am in St Augustine's Church, 7499 O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Upstate Cancer Center for their care and compassion displayed towards Mary.
