Matthew J. Rahalski, 61, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Crouse Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Matt graduated from Liverpool High School in 1981 and began his career as an automotive mechanic at the age of 18. He eventually owned and operated his own service center, Bayberry Service Center on Route 57 in Liverpool. In 2014, he acquired Hiram's Tire & Service Center at the corner of Morgan and Buckley Roads.

Matt enjoyed boating, attending concerts, working in his barn, and hosting Friday bonfires with friends during the warmer months. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Joan Rahalski, and his brother, Stephen Rahalski. Surviving to cherish his memory are his brother, Peter (Deborah) Rahalski, and sister, Mary (Daniel) Yurista. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Christopher (Yazzi) Yurista, Ryan (Meg) Yurista, Casey (Catherine) Yurista, Takara (Joe) Rahalski, and Emma (Lorenzo) Rahalski, as well as a great-niece, great-nephew, and many cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:45 am at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A funeral service will follow at 11:45 am, with burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Henry Clay Blvd, Clay, NY.

In honor of Matt's generous spirit, the family requests donations to the American Red Cross, either monetary or in the form of blood or platelet donations, as these were crucial to Matt's extended survival. The family extends their gratitude to Matt's close friends, Jimmy, Chris, and Maria, for their unwavering support, and to Michael and the team at the shop for their dedication to continuing Matt's legacy.
