Obituary

Comforted by his family's love and Strengthened by his steadfast faith, Michael A. Chalk valiantly ended his almost 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer on December 7, 2009.

He touched many lives and will be remembered for his caring compassion of people, his cheerfulness and love of God, Family and Country.

Born in Elmira, NY, Mike joined the Air Force in 1969, completed his degree with the University of Buffalo and retired as a Major, Ret, USAF in 1997. Distinguished as the Air Force Reserve Intelligence Officer of the year during Desert Storm, Mike also served as part of a NATO team in Italy & England during the Bosnian wars.

Mike's other passion was real estate but his priority was people. Licensed in 1983, Mike and his wife opened Chalk Team Realty in Liverpool in 2002. As a Broker/Owner of our family owned company, Mike was respected and loved by all that had the honor of working with him.

Mike's love of family was at his core being. Married to Noreen for 38 years, as a couple they were committed to a together plan in everything they did. Proud parents of three Beautiful daughters and six Wonderful Grandchildren.! Stephanie (Scott) Peterson of Pennellville with Ellie Grace & Becca Rose, Jennifer (Christopher) Badman of Baldwinsville with Emma Kate and Logan Michael, and Monica (Ryan) Stewart of Cicero with Bree Elizabeth and Courtney Rene. "Papa" will forever be in our hearts!\r\nAs Mike's battle weakened him, he was lovingly cared for by his wife, Noreen, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Shields, and sister, Rosemary Nasakaitas at home before God's plan brought him comfort at Francis House.

This amazing home of love and care was God's helping hand in the journey that had become too burdensome to carry alone. We thank our Francis Home family for the quality time we had with Mike with your loving support.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday December 11, 2009 in St. Joseph The Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday December 10, 2009 at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt. 31, Baldwinsville.
