Michael J. Diehl, 77, of Liverpool, NY passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Elderwood at Liverpool. He was born in Oswego, NY to the late Earl and Odette (Tournier) Diehl. Mike grew up in Mexico, NY, graduating from Mexico Academy & Central School District. He continued his studies at Onondaga Community College. On August 24, 1974 he was united in marriage to the former Susan M. Spiegel, a blessed union of 51 years. Mike began his employment in sales working for Borg-Warner/ Transamerica Finance Company. He retired in 2008 as a Machinist with New Process Gear in East Syracuse, NY. Mike enjoyed and owned classic cars, attending many local car shows and events. Most of all he loved spending time relaxing with his family and friends. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Liverpool.
Surviving are his wife, Susan M. Diehl; his daughter, Kristin M. Diehl, both of Liverpool, NY; his son, Michael G. Diehl of Grand Rapids, MI; his brother, Charles Diehl of Denver, CO; three sisters, Jackie Arthur of Clayton, NC, Yvette (Jeff) Sibbach of TN, Marion Diehl of FL, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Elderwood for their support and compassionate care during his stay.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY or the American Heart Association.
