Obituary

Michael "Mike" J. Johnson, 69, of Liverpool passed away Wednesday at home with his wife, Patti, and children, Sean and Erin, at his side after a short battle with cancer.

Mike was born in Malone, NY to Harold and Ruth Johnson. He was a graduate of Salmon River High School, Canton ATC and Le Moyne College. He was employed by Lamson Corporation for 32 years as a production manager until the company relocated. Mike subsequently entered the sales profession working for Blake Equipment and FW Webb. He "officially" retired in 2013 but continued to work part time at J R Auto Parts, declaring it his favorite job of all time.

Mike was an avid SU sports fan, loved riding his Harley Davidson on country roads with Patti and catching up with the guys at the Adelphi Club, of which he was a member. He was also a member of the Syracuse Adelphi Club Monday Night Golf League. Mike and Patti officially became "snowbirds" in 2019, finding a second home in Punta Gorda, Florida with the rest of their 'Cuse crew.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patti O'Brien Johnson; daughter, Erin Johnson; son, Sean (Heather) Johnson; granddaughter, Karissa; step-grandchildren, Jordan and Austin; step-great-granddaughter, Paisley; his brothers, Ron (Barb) and Barry (Daniele) Johnson; several sisters & brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and his mother-in-law, Betty O'Brien, who considered him another son.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Joseph's the Worker,1001 Tulip St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
