Mauro, Jr.
November 30, 1933 – August 8, 2022
Michael J. Mauro, Jr., 88, of Liverpool passed away on Monday after a miraculous battle with Covid and the after effects of the virus. Born in Syracuse, NY, he graduated from Eastwood High School. He has resided in Liverpool for the past 51 years. Michael was an Accountant and Controller, retiring from B & H Air Conditioning Co. He was a dedicated family man beginning when he was young. Mike had two paper routes and worked odd jobs to help support his Mom and 5 siblings, as his Dad was very ill. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball in Eastwood and Liverpool. He is predeceased by his wife, Jean (Leaf) Mauro and his parents, Michael and Bernice (Podagrosi) Mauro, Sr.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his two sons, Michael J. Mauro III of Bridgeport, NY, and Stephen J. Mauro of Liverpool, NY., four sisters; Therese Wasielewski of Cicero, NY., Connie Ventrone of E. Syracuse, NY., Ann (John) Testa and Madeline Mauro and his brother, Dominick (Carol) Mauro all of Cicero, NY.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY 13090, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
The Family would like to thank the staff on 4 South at Crouse Hospital for the exceptional care they gave Michael and all his doctors over the years especially Dr. James Longo.
Please consider contributions in Michael's memory to Stephen Mauro, 100 River Park Drive, Liverpool, NY 13090. He will be providing extra care for Michael Mauro III as he is blind with special needs and is going to have a difficult time understanding where his Dad is.
