Obituary

Michael W. Sheridan, 67, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2026.

Known to many as Mike, Mic, and "Uncle Monkey," Michael had many passions in life. He was a talented artist, an amazing chef, an avid golfer, a proud grandfather, a “Friend of Bill” and, above all, always a scrapper. He left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Michael was known for the funniest, most beautifully inappropriate jokes and stories that could leave you with a bellyache from laughing. He had absolutely no filter, a brilliant mind, and a heart he wore on his sleeve. His kindness, humor, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Agnes Joy Sheridan; his sister, Maureen Dabrowski; and his brother, Edward Sheridan.

He is survived by his children, Brendan, Liam, and Cassidy; his sisters, Patti Bergsbaken, Colleen Rosekrans, Bridget Sheridan, and Jeanne Mathews-Fox; his brother, David Sheridan; his grandchildren, Maddie, Colin, Annabelle, and Eli; his longtime companion, Betsy MacArthur and 13 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second St., Liverpool, NY 13088, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Michael's love of art, memorial donations may be made to TAPS the Arts Project Syracuse on-line at: www.tapsny.com/drawing-classes-syracuse-ny
