March 26, 1944 – October 12, 2022
Nancy A. (Allen) Vaverchak, 78, of Phoenix, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Elderwood at Liverpool Health Care Facility. She was born and raised in Alexandria, Bay, NY attending Alexandria Central High School. Nancy continued her studies at Morrisville State College earning her Nursing Degree. She came to the Syracuse area in 1966 and has been a resident of Phoenix since 1976. For 18 years, Nancy was employed by Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company in Syracuse, retiring in 2004. She was an active parishioner of St. Stephen's Church in Phoenix serving as Eucharistic Minister. Nancy was a member of the Pastoral Care Ministry, Respect Life Committee, coordinator of Bible Study and the proud recipient of the Immaculata Award for her love and dedication to her church. She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, William J. Vaverchak, Jr. in 2018, her infant daughter, Mary Cara and her brother, Richard Allen.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Kevin (Bobbi Jo) Vaverchak of Phoenix, NY, Keith (Raphael) Vaverchak of DeWitt, NY, two daughters, Lucretia Bracey (Eric) Guthrie of Loxahatchee, FL, Christine (John) Vestigo of Pennellville, NY, 9 grandchildren, great-granddaughter, Aubree and several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in St. Stephen's Church, 469 Main St. Phoenix, NY, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
