Norma Kay Mashaw

Norma Kay (Dewan) Mashaw, 85, formerly of Gouverneur, NY and currently residing with her daughter in Baldwinsville, NY for the past 3 years, passed away on Wednesday at home surrounded by her family. Norma was born and raised in Gouverneur, NY graduating from Gouverneur High School, class of 1959. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Porky” Mashaw.

Norma’s main focus was her family. Her selfless and caring nature defined her in life. Always putting others first, she would lend a helping hand to her family or friends. Norma loved nature and spending summers on Pleasant Lake. She enjoyed laughing, dancing, listening to music and reading. You could also find her in front of the TV solving puzzles on her favorite game show, Wheel of Fortune.

Norma is predeceased by her sister, Anna Bishop and her brother, Larry Lee Dewan.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Todd R. (Arlene) Mashaw of Heuvelton, NY, daughter, Joni L. (Tim) Walton of Baldwinsville, NY, 6 grandchildren, Daniel (Christina), Nathan, Holly, Amanda, Amy and Stacy, 14 great-grandchildren, Ollie, Ori, Oaklin, John, Christopher, Landyn, Dylan, Tyler, Madalyn, MacKenzie, Chelsea, Chloe, Sophia and Oliver, two sisters, Linda (Garnet) Weaver of Edwards, NY and Brenda Bigelow of NC, several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at a future time and date.
