Obituary

Peter S. Lanno, 95, currently of Oswego, NY passed away on Thursday at Oswego Hospital. He was born and raised in Syracuse, NY and attended North High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving during the Korean War as a heavy equipment operator. Never without work, Peter was an expeditor for the Carrier Corporation, retiring in 1983. That year he moved to Phoenix, NY and continued working at the NYS Fairgrounds and for Phoenix Central School District. Peter was a member of Callimachus Masonic Lodge #369, Media Shrine, and the Three Rivers Airplane Club. He is predeceased by his parents, Patsy and Louise, three sisters, Angie Magnante, Nancy Andrews, Mary Scalzo and four brothers, Nick, Frank, Chris and Joe.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving companion of 50 years, Mary Lou Colbert, his son, Patrick (Mary) Lanno, his daughter, Catherine Lanno, granddaughter, Morgan Lanno, sister, Clara (Tony) Neutts and many nieces and nephews, who he shared special relationships with.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Stephen's Church, 469 Main Street, Phoenix, NY 13135. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
