Peter P. Morrissey, Sr., 89, of Liverpool, NY left peacefully on the evening train on October 7, 2022.

The son of Irish immigrants, Peter was raised in the Bronx, where he met his childhood sweetheart, Toby and attended Samuel Gompers High School. Peter served as a mechanic in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His first Sales job was for the Fuller Brush Company and then as VP of sales for Eutectic Corporation. He then started the first Sandler Sales Institute Franchise in Syracuse, NY where he enjoyed teaching, mentoring and encouraging many in that field. He was also a communicant of Christ the King Church.

Peter had a huge heart for those who served as Veterans. After his retirement at age 80, he exercised his patriotism and passion for Vets by visiting disabled vets in their homes and continued working with his vets right up to the end. Family was very important to Peter and he was the life and energy of many, many family gatherings where he loved to tell many and varied colorful stories of his life.

Left standing at the station are his beloved Hannah "Toby" Morrissey of 66 years; children, Peter (Barbara) Morrissey Jr., Roseann Callahan, Gloria (Mike) Storie and Dan (Kristin) Morrissey; as well as 16 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren with three more on the way. Peter always made sure his family knew of his love for each and every one of them.

Peter was always willing to lend a hand and touched the lives of everyone he met, from the checkout people at Walmart to his neighbors and friends.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2022 with a funeral service with military honors to follow at 6:00pm at Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second St., Liverpool, NY 13088.  Burial will be private.
