It is with shattered hearts that the Rotunno family announce the passing of Peter Christopher Rotunno, age 52 of Baldwinsville, on February 6, 2022. He loved unconditionally and the people who knew him would say they always felt welcomed with open arms and an open heart.

Peter was born in Syracuse, NY and was a graduate of Liverpool High School.  Following his graduation, he joined the United States Navy in 1987 as an Engineman EN2. While in the Navy, he took Engineman Class "A" school, where he graduated top of his class (along with the many other classes he pursued) to become a top diesel and boiler mechanic. He served overseas in the Gulf War and was honorably discharged in 1991. He was very proud of his service and loved his country.

Shortly after Peter was discharged, he met his soul mate, Lynne, and they "latched on"… a union that should have been forever. Together Peter and Lynne would have been married 29 years on March 29th of this year. He was an incredibly devoted husband, who would do anything for his wife; a wonderful father, who instilled value, honor, and manners in his sons; and a respectful, dedicated son to his parents, to whom he would always try to make time for in his very busy schedule.

As a sailor, Peter loved being on the water, and last Spring fulfilled his dream of owning a cabin cruiser. His retirement dream was to buy a sailboat and complete the "Great Loop." Lynne shared this dream with him. Every spare moment last summer, you would find them on their boat.

Besides his family, Peter's other great love was the Buffalo Bills - Let's Go Buffalo!! He also loved hosting karaoke parties at his house, where he always had tequila shots on hand. Peter could always find time to do DIY projects around his house. He loved his job as diesel mechanic, and enjoyed both working at System Freight and his fellow coworkers. He also made many lasting friends when he worked at Greyhound, in Richmond, VA.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Lynne Rotunno (Jackson); sons, Alexander and Lukas Rotunno; mother, Cathie Rotunno (Fehlman); father, Dominick and his wife, Sandra (Lancto) Rotunno; brother, Brent and his wife Erin Rotunno; niece, Rowan Rotunno; step brothers; Robert and his wife Mandy Saloski Jr., Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer Saloski and Brian and his wife Andrea Saloski, as well as many other extended family members.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyer Corners, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Spring at Belle Isle Cemetery.
