Peter A. Saarie, 79, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away peacefully on Monday at home. He was born in Fulton, NY, son of the late Arthur and Anne (Dausman) Saarie. Peter grew up on a small dairy farm in the Town of Schroeppel, NY. He graduated from Phoenix High School, class of 1961 where he excelled in football, baseball and basketball. On June 18, 1966 he was united in marriage to the former Yvonne L Meeks, a blessed union of 58 years. Peter was employed as a Certified Mason for 35 years with the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 2 in Syracuse, NY, retiring in 2004. Peter also enjoyed bowling, softball and golf. He was a member of Jaycees in N. Syracuse and the Baldwinsville Moose Lodge #644. Most of all, Peter's focus was family, whether taking cruises with his wife or just spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Yvonne L. Saarie of Baldwinsville, NY, two sons; Joseph (Linda) Saarie of Phoenix, NY and Daniel (Liz) Saarie of Baldwinsville, NY, three adored grandchildren; Madeline, Calvin and Finnian, two brothers; William (Joan) Saarie of Baldwinsville, NY, Arthur "Skip" (Cynthia) Saarie of Phoenix, NY, two sisters; Lois Hofmann of Crosby, TX and Lorraine Saarie (Richard) Veronisi of Phoenix, NY, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved granddog, Nala.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville, NY 13027, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm. Spring burial will take place in Roosevelt Cemetery in Pennellville, NY.
