Obituary

Ramon Edward Brissenden, 94, passed away in the late morning on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, while in the care of his family and nurses at The Cottages at Garden Grove of Cicero.  Ramon (Ray) was born on November 19, 1931, in Syracuse, NY to the late Edward and Marion (Dann) Brissenden and spent his entire life as a resident of Central New York. He spent his career as a purchaser for the model shop at United Technologies, eventually retiring from Carrier in 1987. Ray loved his work and the fulfillment that came with it, though he carried a passion as an entrepreneur running his own sharpening business from his long-time home on Meadowbrook Dr. in Baldwinsville, NY. An avid lover of the outdoors, he had a passion for hunting & fishing that he shared with many of his family and close friends.

Lovingly reunited with Marie Alice Brissenden, his wife of 48 years, he leaves behind a rich legacy of family, including his four sons, Mark (Sally) of Denver, NC, Dann (Yvonne) of Firestone, CO, Keith (Lorraine) of Pennellville, NY, and James (Kathleen) of Baldwinsville, NY; nine grandchildren, Jason, Scott, Dann, Adam, Ryan, Kathleen, Kelly, Emily, and Nicole; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Ramon will be remembered for his tenacity, his generosity, and the deep impact he had on those he loved. Armed with donuts and dog treats, he made friends wherever he went. He taught us to live with integrity and reminded us that at any age, the courage to learn, grow, and love is a true gift. Dad, Grandpa, Great-grandpa, Ray—you will always be in our hearts.
