Ranita A. Watson, 87, of Liverpool passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 9, 2022 at home. Ranita was born in Pasadena, California, grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and moved to Syracuse where she completed her graduate work at Syracuse University, becoming a social worker. She dedicated her adult life to working with troubled youth and founded the foster care program at Berkshire Farm and Services for Youth. She was an avid golfer and a dedicated S.U. fan. She liked to travel and she enjoyed being with her friends, whether on the golf course, in her neighborhood, or with her "adopted" family. She was also very involved at UCC in Bayberry as a Deacon, a member of Church Council, and Music and Worship. Ranita loved animals. Every dog she had was a loving companion to her throughout her life.

Ranita will be lovingly remembered by her wealth of friends from all walks of life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Catherine Watson and her brother, Ralph Watson Jr. She is survived by a niece, nephews, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 am in the United Church of Christ, 215 Blackberry Road, Liverpool, NY 13090.
