Robert M. Henning, Sr., 85, of the Village of Liverpool for the past 47 years passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Katherine (Wojick) and Frederick Henning. Robert was a machine operator for over 30 years with Rollway Bearing. He was also the owner of Hennings Wharf Restaurant in Liverpool. Bob enjoyed fast cars, especially his limited edition "Super Bee", NASCAR Racing and Car Shows and Syracuse University Basketball.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, John Michael Henning and brother, Frederick Henning.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret "Peg" (Gaus) Henning; a daughter, Eleanor Rumpel (Robert Bordeaux) of New Bern, NC; a son, Robert M. (Kelly) Henning, Jr. of Liverpool, NY; a brother, Albert (Susanne) Henning of LaFayette, NY; seven grandchildren, Garret (Caroline) Smorol, Krista Henning, Erik (Julie) Henning, Kendal, Gracie and Cole Henning and Jacob Henning, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday, October 21, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Liverpool Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Health Hospital's affiliate at Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240.
