Robert F.
Rathbun
June 30, 1932 – February 17, 2026
Robert F. Rathbun, aged 93, of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, surrounded by his wife and children. Bob was born on June 30, 1932, in Syracuse, NY, to the late John Earl and Grace (Pack) Rathbun. He was a proud resident of Liverpool, NY for the last 65 years.
Bob spent 42 years at General Electric as an Engineering Supervisor, retiring in 1990. After retirement, Bob found joy in gardening and could be seen pushing his granddaughter, Gabbie, around the yard in his wheelbarrow. He and Marie spent many winters in Leesburg, Florida, where he could be found gardening or playing a game of Bridge (often!). We can rest assured knowing that there will be a card game happening in Heaven!
Community and volunteering were an integral part of Bob's being. In his younger years, Bob was active in the Knights of Columbus and coached Little League baseball. He was an active communicant of Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, where he served on Parish Council, sang in the church choir, and volunteered for the Food Pantry. He and Marie sang with the Liverpool Community Chorus and after retirement, volunteered at Crouse and Upstate Hospitals.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his cherished sister and brother-in-law, Lois and John Gianni, and beloved brother, James Rathbun.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Marie (Dinehart); 4 children, Ann (Tom) Mueller, Robert Jr., Joseph (Liz), and Katie Wagner; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A calling hour from will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Catholic Family of Epiphany Church, 1001 Tulip Street Liverpool, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, with the Rite of Committal and burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dewitt.
The family would like to thank Bob's caregivers, Patricia and Natanael, who provided hours of support and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mary and Joseph's Pantry at Epiphany Parish.
