Roberta June Mettler also known to many as "Bobbie" or "Bert" passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 after a brief illness at the age of 96.  She was born and raised in Sherburne New York until she relocated to Syracuse to attend Crouse School of Nursing.  She was active with her Crouse Alumni Group.  She worked the majority of her career at Upstate Hospital, retiring as the director of admitting.  Roberta was a woman of faith and was a faithful parishioner of Atonement Church for many years until she could no longer travel and loved participating with their "Crafty Ladies". She was the definition of generous and put her family and friends that became family above all else.  She could be found cheering on her beloved New York Yankees and Syracuse Basketball whenever they played.   She will be dearly missed.  Our family would like to thank Kevin, Gail and Judy for their unending support during her final weeks.

Survived to cherish Roberta's memory are her nieces; Trina Mettler, Linda Hooley, and Anna Poole; and nephews; Stephen Mettler, John (Jackie) Whalen, Marty (Julie) Whalen, Hans (Erin) Poole, Stuart Poole, and Rick Poole along with many great nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.  Burial will be private.
