Ronald "Ron" R. Mealey, 85, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away on Friday at the Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero, NY. He was born and raised in Brighton, MA and moved to the Syracuse area in 1955. Ron graduated from Eastwood High School, Class of 1957. He enlisted in the US Navy, proudly serving on the USS Amphion AR 13 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ron worked for One Beacon Insurance Group for 12 years retiring in 2000 as a Computer Systems Analyst. He volunteered at the Military Courtesy Room at Syracuse Hancock Airport since 2010 and was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville, NY. Ron enjoyed golfing and spending summers in the Adirondacks and York Beach, Maine. He loved to play cards, especially Cribbage with his family or friends. Ron also looked forward to seeing his buddies from the Class of 57.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his companion of 25 years, Joan M. Eagan of Baldwinsville, NY, two sons, Glen P. Mealey of Portland, ME and Kevin R. (Susanne Goddard) Mealey of Newton, MA, their mother, Patricia A. Skorka, Joan's children, Diane M. (John) Ramin and Michael J. (Cathleen) Egan, 11 grandchildren; Paige, Jenna, Samantha, Colin, Drew, Meredith, Jack, Brennan, Rhyan, Kellan and Tiernan, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rite of Committal and entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
