Rosario Romeo, beloved father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at The Centers at St. Camillus on Saturday. He was born in Solicchiata, Sicily, Italy in 1938 and immigrated to the United States in 1962. He was employed at Crucible Specialty Metals, Inc., for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years Rita (Spuches) Romeo, parents Giuseppe & Maria Romeo and sister, Carmela Romeo.

He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law Juliette (Romeo) & Giuseppe Giufre; son & daughter-in-law Joseph & Renee Romeo; grandchildren Vincenzo (Gina), Rosario & Maria Giufre; great-grandchildren Giuseppe, Sofia & Cecilia Giufre; brother Isidoro (Giuseppina) Romeo; two sisters Giuseppina Romeo and Concettina Romeo both of Sicily; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 10:30 to 11:30 am in Our Lady of Pompei Church, 301 Ash Street Syracuse, NY 13208 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 am. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
