Rose Marie Mendes, 99, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She was born on November 3, 1924 in Gloucester, Mass, she lived a beautiful life and enjoyed time spent with her loving family.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Rosalia (Scola) Vigiliano; her husband, Mario Mendes, sisters, Margaret, Mary, Josephine, Vincie and Grace; brothers, Frank and Sebastian; son-in-law, Robert Darley, and grandson-in-law, Yanvari Hitt.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Delores Mendes Darley and Rosemary Mendes Presser; grandchildren, Holly Hitt, Kara (Michael) Young and Lauren (Garrett) Milauskas; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Young, Sydney Young and Michael Young, as well as her sisters, Dolly and Betty.

Burial will be private in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
