Peters
March 10, 1927 – December 18, 2019
Roy H. Peters, 92, of Liverpool passed away on Wednesday. Born and raised in Syracuse, he graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, Class of 1945. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Roy continued his education earning his Associates degree from Syracuse University. He was employed for 39 years with General Electric in the Syracuse area, retiring in 1986 as a Sales Representative. Roy was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed boating. A proud but humble man, he had a great sense of inner pride. He will be remembered for infectious smile and great sense of humor. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Roy volunteered with North Area Meals on Wheels and was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Liverpool. He is predeceased by his first wife, Janice E. Peters, son, Gary M. Peters, daughter, Laurie Peters, brother, Nicholas Peters and sister, Betty Coe.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" R. (Cruthers) Peters of Liverpool, his son, Mark H. (Mary Kay) Peters of Manlius, three daughters, Cindi (Dominick) LoSurdo of Baldwinsville, Kimberly (William) Pierce of Brewerton, Jennifer (Michael) Herman of Atlanta, GA, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St, Liverpool with the Rite of Committal and burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
