Royal "Roy" F. Benware, Jr., 82, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022.  He was born in Lowville, NY on March 18, 1940 to the late Margaret (Oliver) Benware and Royal Benware, Sr.   Roy retired from Gerrity Lumber after working there for more than 30 years.

Roy was an avid car fan and could often be found at cruise-ins and car shows around Syracuse.  He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and golf, but most of all, his favorite thing to do was spending time with his family.  Roy will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his brother, Carl Benware and sister, Janet Herzig.

Roy will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Virginia (Pagano) Benware; son, Joseph Benware of Liverpool; daughter, Pamela (William) Regan and granddaughter, Kira Regan, all of DeWitt; sisters, Joyce Castor of Baldwinsville, Barb Gudridge of Florida, Doris Young of Copenhagen, Brenda Harris of Florida along with several nieces and nephews.

All services will be private. Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
