Russell P. Baxter, Jr., 95, a lifetime resident of Liverpool, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022.

He was a combat veteran of WWII, having joined the U.S. Navy after his high school graduation.  His service included time aboard the U.S.S. Plunket, where Russell proudly served as a "Tin Can Sailor".

After the war, Russell returned and married the love of his life Rita Russell.  He worked for Lampson-Diebold, retiring after 40 years of service.  He was an active member of the VFW and American Legion.  Russell especially enjoyed dancing with his beloved wife of 70 years, Rita, who predeceased him in 2019.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his sons; Russell (Marion) Baxter, III and Michael Baxter, grandchildren; Ryan Baxter, Lindsey Baxter Jones and Rozalyn Baxter Sewart as well as several great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
