Sharon Kay Pickard, age 81, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Sharon, was a lifelong resident of Syracuse NY and was born on April 12, 1940.  She began working at Muench-Kreuzer Candle Company in August 1977 where she was a well-known and devoted employee for many years. A wonderful storyteller. She enjoyed sharing treasured memories of her family and making people laugh. She was proud of her three children and loved each of them deeply. Her love for her children apparent in the warm ways she would often speak of them, always eager to hear of their latest adventures. In her spare time Sharon enjoyed cooking and baking and pies were her specialty.  She enjoyed spending warm nights on the porch of her camp and occasional visits to the casino with her husband, Ed. Sharon never turned down a good box of chocolate covered cherries. She enjoyed frequent trips to the beauty salon and was rarely ever spotted without her signature red lipstick. Sharon will be truly missed for years to come by her family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.  She is predeceased by her first husband, Ronald DePeyster and her brother, Jim Roberts.

Sharon is survived  by her loving husband of 21 years, Ed Pickard, sister, Shirly Baird of FL, son Ronald DePeyster (Dawn Neyhart)of Syracuse, two daughters; Michelle (Michael) Tisdell of NC, and Denise (Jeff) Schmidlen of OK, 3 step children, Edward, Johnnie and Ann Pickard, eight grandchildren, Sheri (Chris) Efird, Jennifer (Travis) Gaddy, Samantha (Vicky) Brezicky, Christopher and Vanessa Pietrantoni, Jordan Schmidlen, Brandon and Kayleigh Pickard, and five great grandchildren, Haven, Brynn, Lorelei, Ivy and Liam.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral service to immediately follow at the Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.  Burial will follow the service in North Syracuse Cemetery, North Syracuse, NY.
