Obituary

Shirlee Tutor, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022.  Shirlee was born on September 14, 1927 to Howard and Fern Myrtle Lehne. She graduated from Central High School in Syracuse. After accepting a position at First Trust Bank, Shirlee began courting a returning WWII airman, Henry Tutor. They soon eloped but eventually married at St. Mary's in Baldwinsville. A short time after, Henry and Shirlee opened their first restaurant, The Tutor's, in Liverpool, where Shirlee provided delicious desserts. In 1990 they retired, after more than 40 years in the restaurant business. Henry and Shirlee shared a bond that lasted 69 years.

She enjoyed volunteering in various capacities, but was most fond of her work as president of the American Legion Post 188 in Liverpool where she helped to create a child welfare program. She also presided as president of Community General's Auxiliary, focusing on providing care to the patients in the ICU, and helping to meet the needs of their families. Shirlee was predeceased by her beloved Henry on January 10, 2015.

Shirlee is survived by her sons; Michael (Susan), Terry, and Joseph (Lisa), her daughter, Jody (Mark) Martino, and her grandchildren; Alexander Martino, Melina Martino, Brooke Tutor, and Connor Tutor.

In keeping with Shirlee's wishes there will be no services.
